Lincoln University is doing truly great work to assist farmers to achieve sustainable outcomes. In particular the dairy unit at the University has advanced the concept of Regenerative farming to great effect, inspiring fresh confidence among our dairy farmers that there is a way forward that will work for them.
However, reportedly the University recently ordered replacement carpet throughout and they have apparently chosen an imported acrylic.
As mayor of Southland I would mandate pure wool for every bit of floor needing replacement carpet that the council controls and central government must be encouraged to do the same thing.
If we don’t support our sheep farmers who will? It’s not as if pure wool carpet does not outperform synthetic carpet in every way!
